Chapter 1154 - 466: Rockhorn (Part 3)
After all, these Evil Spirits still possess a certain degree of instinctive intelligence, much like bloodthirsty beasts.Watching the group of Evil Spirits, Chadite extended his hand and gave a little wave. A glowing orb, resembling the moon, directly smashed down onto that area.
The orb struck down, spreading and expanding like a moon rising from the ground.
Amidst the hoarse cries of agony, the group of Evil Spirits instantly turned into a field of flying ash.
A gentle breeze swept across, collecting the ashes on the ground.
Yan Jiao stood rooted to the spot, staring at the scene.
There was a feeling of unreality.
The problem that had troubled him for so long was so effortlessly resolved by someone else.
He couldn’t help but sigh, "It’s great to have so many tricks."
After all, his strength wasn’t actually weak, but these Evil Spirits countered him too much.
Fortunately, he believed in the Holy Mother and could temporarily gain some additional Holy Light power through prayer.
The body of a half-elemental being is both a gift and a hindrance.
It granted them innate elemental manipulation but limited their control over other powers.
Hearing this, Alka smiled.
Everyone walked over to observe the tall stone pillar.
"Is this your brother’s corpse? It’s much larger than the one we saw before. Is it because of strength?"
Hearing Lucilia’s question, Yan Jiao nodded, "That’s part of the reason. Time is another factor. After all, the former stone pillar has been here for too long, time erodes everything."
Hearing this, several of them nodded. They watched as Yan Jiao approached the stone pillar, placing his four-fingered hand on its surface.
Like mud churning, resembling the effect produced by Alka using the Earth Card before, a Crystal Stone emerged from within.
This Crystal Stone was evidently larger than the one Alka previously obtained.
The energy it emitted was also much stronger.
From this, they could tell that, at least, his brother was definitely stronger than the former owner of Alka’s Crystal.
Looking at the Crystal Stone in his hand, Yan Jiao sighed.
He placed it against his chest, letting it fuse inside, presumably for temporary storage.
"Thank you all."
Alka nodded, then adjusted his direction slightly and headed towards the destination.
Yan Jiao followed behind them.
They traveled quickly, taking only about two days to reach the place where the orange light pillar and the Cloud Staff were hidden.
Upon arrival, one could sense the eerie atmosphere; the number of Evil Spirits here was overwhelming, with black and red eyes everywhere.
These Evil Spirits lurked in various places, observing them.
Even though it was daytime, the area remained grim and dark, with a biting cold wind blowing.
The cold wind howled through the mountains, making a sound akin to wailing.
In such a region, Yan Jiao felt extremely uneasy; the stronger one’s power, the more sensitive they were to danger.
Here, each Evil Spirit was a fatal threat to him.
It was like a lamb entering the heart of a wolf pack.
A huge Evil Spirit charged directly at Alka and the others, completely ignoring the threat posed by the moonlight.
However, a Fourth Stage Evil Spirit is still just an Evil Spirit.
Alka conjured a substantial Fireball, imbued with a touch of Holy Light. In an instant, it ignited and reduced the spirit to ashes.
Following Alka and the others for a few days, Yan Jiao had almost witnessed all their varied encounters.
Watching this, Yan Jiao couldn’t help but ask, "Were you involved in defense at the Demon Hunting Fortress before?"
Hearing this, Alka turned his head to look at him and nodded.
"Indeed."
"So, you are the Compass Eye?" Yan Jiao asked.
It seemed their reputation had spread; Alka nodded, not hiding it.
"No wonder, so it’s you all, truly impressive."
Saying this, they continued forward while listening to Yan Jiao’s story: "Before being transported by the Demon, I was always fighting at the Demon-Defending Fortress.
I heard about you from the soldiers sent to support from the Demon Hunting Fortress. They said how strong you all were, and I even watched the scene where you toyed with the Mouth of Devourment in the Dream Realm."
"I never expected to meet you here; it seems I’m quite lucky."
Though Alka and the others didn’t support the Demon-Defending Fortress personally, the soldiers from the Demon Hunting Fortress spread their fame there.
Plus, a few years back, their reputation had already spread in the World Scar, making their name even bigger.
Alka smiled.
In their casual conversation, they reached the edge of the area.
"Let’s set up a camp here."
Hearing this, Yan Jiao asked with some doubt, "Are you planning to stay here for a while?"
Alka nodded, "Yes, the thing we’re looking for might not be that easy to find."
Hearing this, Yan Jiao nodded and then crouched down, pressing his hands to the ground.
As the Earth Element dispersed, ripples appeared on the ground, and soon a square stone house directly emerged from it.
"I might not be able to provide much help against the Evil Spirits, but this small task I can manage."
Looking at the stone house, it seemed it wasn’t his first time using such a skill.
The stone house was constructed most rationally, even an observation tower was erected.
It included simple stone beds, benches, and a series of furniture, and the house’s construction was excellent for fending off enemy attacks.
In the center, there was a bonfire along with a chimney for smoke dispersion.
They had a simple walk around.
Alka looked at Chadite and said, "Let’s walk around the area and also understand the terrain for map making."
Chadite nodded.
The two of them walked out of the camp, while the others stayed inside to begin the setup.
